The year 2009 marks the 185th anniversary of birth of Petr Alabin, a prominent public and cultural figure, an honorary citizen of the Vyatka and Sofia, speaker of the Samara City Duma, the mayor, the founder of the Samara Museum. Alabin’s Fund started to form since the decision to open the museum in Samara - from the 80's of the XIXth century. The Fund includes different materials: documents, photographs, engravings, the first exhibits of the museum, personal belongings. Alabin’s Fund also includes photocopies and copies obtained from different museums and archives of the country in the 1990’s: State Archive of the Samara Region, Russian State Historical Archive, Kirov historical-architectural and literary museum, archive of Sofia Library.
