The period of the IIId - VIth centuries in China was marked by dramatic historical and political events. Yet, the epoch of Six Dynasties was largely a crucial stage in Chinese culture and literature. This was the period of transition from anonymous song poetry to an author’s lyrics. At the same time it was a period of shaping genres and themes of the lyric poetry, its final typological peculiarities and artistic features. The epoch of Six Dynasties produced over 400 literary figures and several thousand poetic works.
