The code of Byzantine evidences of the IXth-XVth centuries about Russia is the biggest collection of the data on Russia from historiogrpaphic, official, literary and geographical sources as well as manuscript materials, official stamps and legends. There is no other book where the problem has been investigated in such a thorough way. The work represents the result of a many-year work on the composite vocabulary of the Byzantine sources of the IXth-XVth centuries on the Russian history. The author examines both well-known and insufficiently studied historical monuments including personal notes, ballades, and poems by the medieval authors.
