Polyakov Yury Aleksandrovich (born 1921) is a well-known historian, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the author of more than 30 monographs and 600 scientific articles. The second book of his memoirs is devoted to the events of the second half of the 1940s – 2010s – severe post-war time, ideological battles, struggle against the “cult of personality”, public “thaw”, “stagnation”, as well as scientific investigations, cooperation with the famous native and foreign historians.
