"Lies and deceptions about non-Bulgarian origin of the Islamized Bulgarians are not just from these days. ditions and publications by pseudo scientists and by lay historians appeared during the last years which strive to instill its theories about the non-Bulgarian nature. Such of authors in their writings by a rule does not mention on which basis they build their theses; they have no reference apparatus; they do not indicate to historical sources, documents, statements data, but they only refer to memories and polls by old aged informers which by their memory tell what they have heard and what their grandparents told them. Rapporteurs – Bulgarian and foreign ones – also presents their unacceptable theories on conferences and symposiums basing on the writings on the mentioned above authors. But history is written not upon memories and polls. These editions and publications just wreak turmoil and confusion in the Bulgarian society and help for disunion and hate between the religious societies. Who does need this? Who does break the good living between peaceful and accommodation people? But of course, critical publications with analyses of the mentioned above theses and theories immediately appeared which we collected in the present collection. It is time to say to the liars: Truth is proven with documents, gentlemen, but not on the basis of heard and told, fictional and fantasied." – by the compiler
