This is a sequel to the study "Former People", which shed light on Bulgaria's economic, political, military and intellectual elite after the communist takeover of 1944. The authors have dug into previously unexplored archives of the repressive apparatus of the Bulgarian Communist Party, examined regional government documents, met descendants of what were known as "former people", researched memoirs and collected evidence. They are convinced that it is very important to preserve the memories of those who took the blows of the communist regime because these memories can teach us lessons and give us examples of courageous behavior at tough moments.
