This collection includes articles of the participants in the project and the scientific conference, which was held in October 2018 with the participation of young scientists and PhD students, as well as established historians from Sofia University and other research institutes. The research covers the entire XX and the beginning of the XXI century. They address issues of Bulgarian foreign policy and diplomacy in the Balkans, as well as aspects of the foreign policy of other Balkan countries. Some of the articles discuss topics related to scientific, cultural and church diplomacy, and consider the impact of demographic, financial and economic problems on Balkan relations.
