The monograph "Bulgaria and Israel (1948 -1990)" is the first comprehensive academic study on the issue of Bulgaria's relations with the Jewish state. The topic of the salvation of Bulgarian Jews is continued and its projections and significance after World War II are traced. The specifics of Bulgarian-Israeli relations, the differences in Soviet and Bulgarian policies on the Jewish question, and Bulgaria's place as a kind of mediator between Moscow and Tel Aviv during the Cold War are highlighted. The participation of the Jewish population in the development of socialist Bulgaria is analyzed, as well as the activities of the Public Cultural and Educational Organization of the Jews during this period. The book is built on the basis of rich archival material, with documents from the Zionist Archive in Jerusalem and the Archive of the Commission on Files in Bulgaria being particularly important and shedding new light on the facts.
