The present collection includes all the letters of the Russian chemist and composer Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin (1833–1887) discovered by this time. The fourth volume contains 227 letters, 25 of which are missing in the edition of Sergei Aleksandrovich Dianin, and numerous draft fragments. In cases where autographs of letters have been preserved, the text is verified against primary sources. The publication is addressed to a wide range of readers.
