The author spent two years visiting a distinctly folklore area under Kralova hola mountain. She wanted to learn to sew a bonnet, part of a local women's costume, and learned many other things about life in a remote mountain village in a gradually depopulated region, about herself, about folk culture, about living with Roma, about stereotypes, including those in which she lived and lives alone. She didn't photograph, film, or record. She listened, watched, embroidered, and wrote down. Together with her teacher, she sought in her memory, combining fragments from the past with details from the present, on the edge of the village, in the vicinity of a Roma settlement.
