The historical drama tetralogy "Bohdan Khmelnytskyi", which we offer to the reader, was completed in 1929. Its only edition was in the same year 1929 in the sixth volume of the eight-volume book by Hnat Khotkevych, published by the Kharkiv cooperative publishing house Rukh with a circulation of 2,000 copies. Probably, it was from this drama that the writer's tragedy began. After all, in the last part of the "Pereyaslav" tetralogy Khotkevych, contrary to the official concept, condemned the signing of the Pereyaslav Agreement, calling this act the enslavement of Ukraine by Russia.
