From the pages of this book, the reader will learn about the little-known, but important event of the war of 1812 - a two-day battle on November 15 and 16 between the Russian and Napoleon troops for the Belarusian town Volkovysk. Having shackled the Saxon and then the Austrian corps of the "Great Army", the Russian corps of General F.V. Osten-Sacken eventually retreated, but gained time, which allowed the main forces of the 3rd Western Army to reach the Berezina River to meet Napoleon’s troops retreating from Moscow.
