The publication is devoted to the western part of the city of Blagoveshchensk, where the first buildings of the Russian city on the Amur arose in the middle of the 19th century. The book describes both cultural heritage sites under state protection and buildings that need to be included in the lists of those in need of preservation. The book is the first part of a trilogy about the architectural heritage of the regional center of the Amur region. Further publication of books about architectural monuments of its central and eastern parts is planned.
