Summer 1915. The Russian army, under the pressure of the enemy, withdraws from the Kingdom of Poland and the western ends of the Empire. Biezhency - this is what the tsarist authorities call the fugitives in Russian - are distributed all over Russia. They wander in the heat, without water or food. When in villages somewhere in Siberia or on the Don, they struggle to build a new life, a revolution breaks out, destroying the remaining pillars of the eternal order: tsarist power and religion. The treacherous people are on their way again, now the other way, to the reborn Polish State. The return brings new ends of the world. More than two million people could have left Poland, but textbooks are silent about the current activity. The story is saved by the descendants of the treads.
