Svetlana BEREZOVSKAYA ... turned unpromising rural clubs into developing houses of folk art and leisure centers, betting on the preservation of folklore - and she did not lose. It was at this time that the department of culture was headed by twenty-eight-year-old Svetlana BEREZOVSKAYA ...
The first thing that Svetlana Anatolyevna did after being appointed to the position was to gather a team of like-minded people and organize the network of cultural institutions. Indeed, at that time, some rural clubs were not in demand. Somewhere the regional center is very close, somewhere there is no personnel, no material base.
In 1990, a methodological center was created in Oktyabrsky, which began to deal with rural institutions. This was especially important when the Soviet Union collapsed. The village club has ceased to be a platform for ideological events. He had to organize leisure in new conditions.
“We staked on the revival of Belarusian traditional culture,” Svetlana Berezovskaya comments. - This is the basis of the foundations, what the work of a cultural institution in the countryside should be based on. We did not have choreographers, vocal leaders, but we had grandmothers who knew a lot of songs, dances, who created unique examples of decorative and applied art with their own hands. They were the ones who could teach all this to children. When younger people adopt folkloric experience from an elderly person, it is a very touching process.
