The monograph is devoted to the tradition of including writers in the delegation of the Belarusian SSR to the session of the UN General Assembly. The paper examines the official diplomatic activities of writers, as well as their personal impressions of participating in the General Assembly and of visiting the United States. The authors analyze works of art published by Belarusian writers after returning home. The study is based on a significant number of sources of personal origin (diary entries, epistolary heritage, memoirs), many of which are stored in archives, first published and introduced into scientific circulation. Such an approach helps to "revive" the history of Belarusian diplomacy, to make it interesting not only for the researcher, but also for the mass reader.
