Kraslav region is the boderland where the Balts (Latvians, Latgalians, Lithuanians) live together with the Slavs (Russians, Poles, Belarusians, Ukrainians) and numerous religions co-exist. All these factors resulted in multilingualism. Three languages (Latvian, Russian, Polish) and numerous dialects (Latgalian, Belarusian and Polish of the Northern Borderland) exist. The book provides a comparison of two groups - native Belarusians and immigrant population from Western Belarus. Phonetic, morphological, syntactic features and the lexis were a subject of the analysis.
