This book tries to answer the question "How did the mafia steal Bulgaria?". It is the last of the trilogy, including "Behind the Curtain of Soc" and "Behind the Curtain of Transition." The first two books tell what, according to the author, happened to all of us, the Bulgarians, on the theatrical stages of socialism and the transition to democracy. The third tries to explain why it happened in the worst possible way. How, instead of becoming the "Switzerland of the Balkans" that the rapturous squares dreamed of, did we collapse into a banana republic?
