The novel by G. Khrushchov-Sokolnikov, first published in 1889, tells of the main event of the Great War of 1409-1411. - the battle on the lands of East Prussia, between the settlements of Grunwald and Tannenberg, held on July 15, 1410. In this grand battle, the ancestors of the Belarusians, Poles and Lithuanians defeated the Teutonic Order, stopping its expansion in Eastern Europe. The author gave a wide and colorful panorama of the events of that time.
