The first introductory part of the book is dedicated to the short description of the history of Bashkir people. The second part comprises the events of the Civil war connected with the establishment of the Soviet power on the territory of Bashkiria and the South Urals, with the defense of St. Petersburg in 1919 against the troops of the general Yudenich, hostility at the Polish front in 1920. Mussa Murtazin is an outstanding political figure of that time, one of the organizers of the Bashkir army, the commander of the Bashkir brigade in the years of the Civil war.
