The main purpose of the present volume is to introduce the reader to a range of relatively unfamiliar aspects of the archaeology of Lithuania and the East Baltic region. The coverage extends from the Paleolithic and Mesolithic to the Middle Ages. The material presented in the book is highly diverse, and no common theme runs through the volume. Since collections of papers focused upon a single topic can generally appeal only to a relatively small readership, this diversity may indeed be claimed as the one of the merits of this volume of Archaeologia Baltica. Bibliographies to every article are included.
