The Balkan Route glossary attempts to approach the current migration regime shaped by proscribed and criminalized migrant movements through Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and surrounding countries through key concepts. With its alphabetical arrangement of texts, references and other formal and content features, it inherits the genre characteristics of a lexicon. At the same time, due to its relative comprehensiveness in the elaboration of concepts, openness to their reexamination and renunciation of neutrality, it is closer to a collection or anthology of ethnographically based scientific texts. In addition to being a collection, this glossary can also be read as an author's book with twenty-three chapters that are tightly connected to each other, both explicitly (references) and implicitly (perspectives, themes, examples), which may or may not be read in sequence.
