The monograph is devoted to one of the significant constants of Russian culture — wine drinking — presented through the prism of the Russian language. Based on the works of writers of the second half of the 19th century (N. S. Leskov, F. M. Dostoevsky, L. N. Tolstoy, A. P. Chekhov), the verbalization of the Bacchic code is described; common components united by the ideologeme of realism and accents in the individual author's understanding and presentation of the situation of wine drinking are identified; idiostyle markers — idiolexemes in the world of a work of art are given; and the figurative use of Bacchic nominations is considered.
