The book consists of three parts. Part I is based on the idea that Russian fairytales reflect numerous religious and mythological notions dating back to the old times. Part II centers on those religious and fabulous elements, which can be found in separate examples of Russian literature of the XIXth and XXth centuries. Part III reveals traces of religious and mythological plots in Russian literature, especially in works by F.Dostoyevsky, A.Platonov, V.Rasputin.
