Valeriia "Nava" Subotina served in the press service of the "Azov" regiment. For 86 days the Ukrainian military held defenses in the surrounded Mariupol and on the territory of the Azovstal plant. Thanks to the press service of the "Azov" regiment, the world learned about the tragedy of Mariupol, about the defenders of the city and civilians who sought refuge at the "Azovstal" plant. Operators, photographers, journalists created content that did not leave anyone indifferent, caused a wave of support for #SAVE MARIUPOL in many countries.
The besieged people lacked food, water, and medicine, but the military carried out the order to hold the defense. And the enemy methodically destroyed the city and Azovstal.
