The third volume of the edition is devoted to basic stages of Azerbaijan petroleum industry development since the beginning of the World War I (1914) till 90-s. The authors eleborate on the role of Azerbaijan oil in the course of the World War I, analyze the process of reconstruction and development of oil industry in the first years after the USSR establishment. It is emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan deposits as the basic source of raw materials of the USSR in 20-40-s. Special attention is paid to the contribution of Azeri oil industry workers to the discovery and development of new oil regions in the former USSR, construction of new oil refineries; there is exposed a role of Caspian sea and its deposits as pillars of Azerbaijan economy; described how Azerbaijan oil forced its way to the world market. The book is provided with a lot of statistical data and photos. The authors' conclusions are supported by numerous references to archival materials.
