A reference collection of paleontological specimens has been created on the basis of the Core Research Center at the Tyumen Petroleum Research Center, which is constantly being updated. New materials come mainly from the core of deep oil and gas exploration wells. Currently, the collection includes more than one hundred thousand specimens of macro- and microfauna. The first edition of the Atlas includes only the Upper Cretaceous fauna, the images of which are extremely important for the layout of regional stratigraphic schemes of the Upper Cretaceous of Western Siberia.
