Stasys SHalkauskis (1886-1941) is one of the most prominent Lithuanian philosophers in history and the development of Lithuanian self-consciousness, and is rightly considered to be the pioneer of Lithuanian philosophy of culture and education. In today's Lithuania, his work is unforgivably forgotten. The work "At the Crossroads of Two Worlds" was written in 1917 and published in Paris in 1919, not only as a reflection on the synthesis of the Lithuanian character, but also as a justification for the right of the Lithuanian nation to its state for Western societies. In this he perfectly embodies the duty of SHalkauskis himself to represent the creation of his own state. The intelligentsia must participate in the construction of the state. The goal of a national movement is a culture that has meaning for humanity. This publication aims to contribute to the return of SHalkauskis to the life of the Lithuanian nation.
