The book presents selected works by the author over the last 30 years, united by the idea of the fundamental connection of art with the cultural system and the culturological aesthetics that grows on its basis (as well as the culturological approach in art criticism in general. The first section of the book examines the basic foundations of the culturological approach to art (understanding culture and the socio-culturally necessary essential connection of art with it), the problems and ideas of its methodology and theoretical implementation (as applied to art in general, and to music and theater in particular). The second section includes works on art of a historical and culturological nature: articles on the cultural and historical typology of art (classics, modernism, postmodernism, and on another basis - ontofunctional syncretism, autonomy and proteism); on the art of modernism, avant-garde, socialist realism in their culturological comprehension, spiritual, psychological and aesthetic specificity. The third section presents the author's concept of the latest art, which is based on two key ideas: - the transformation of culture in modern society from "second" nature into "first"; - as a consequence of this, the birth and development in the second half of the 20th - 21st century of a fundamentally new type of art: culture-centric, focused on the artistic development of culture, its specific properties, structures, processes and spiritual meanings as a special independent, but vitally necessary for humanity and man reality, which was a revolution in world art, led to the emergence of unprecedented works and, at the same time, gave rise to a number of difficult problems.
