The publication contains more than one and a half thousand references about biographies, service and awards of officers, admirals and generals of the Russian Imperial Navy. Those to whom this book is dedicated were associated with Arkhangelsk in the period from 1850 to 1917 on the basis of the origin of the service or by origin. The sources of information for the authors were archival documents and publications in official departmental publications. The book is illustrated with engravings, drawings and photographs from private, museum and archival collections. Some of the photos are published for the first time.
