Collection of works from the Kazan' history journal "Gasyrlar avazy - Ekho vekov," of which B.Sultanbekov, historian and archivist, was a founder and editor. Most of the articles deal with the Stalin years in the Tatar republic. Study of the documents of Tatar republican and central archives that were kept with classification label "top secret" helps the author to shed light upon many unknown chapters of Tatar history as well as to recollect unfairly forgotten people and non-events.
