The series "Architecture of Interwar Kyiv" was founded in 2019, the author is Semyon Shirochin.
The book systematizes information about more than one hundred and fifty buildings built in pre-capital Soviet Kyiv. All found original architectural sketches are presented, most of which are published for the first time. For the book, drawings of facades, never before published and inaccessible to a wide range of readers, were redrawn. On the basis of more than three hundred sources it was possible to restore in as much detail as possible not only the history and architecture of the objects under study, but also to draw up a picture of the architectural process of the late 1920s - the early 1930s which was acquiring political meaning, to analyze the struggle of three architectural trends and the formation of totalitarian architecture.
