Based on field and archival research, the history of the creation of Sverdlovsk architects G.I. Potapov and G.G. Rostkovskaya, the country's first one-story large-panel residential building in 1945.
Particular attention is paid to the creative search by architects for the interaction of architectural and compositional solutions of houses and their layouts with prefabricated elements of reinforced concrete structures.
Examples of little-known unique architectural projects and drawings of experimental low-rise large-panel buildings created by architects of Sverdlovsk and Moscow for their production at the Berezovsky building structures plant (Sverdlovsk region) in the second half of the 1940s are given.
