The book considers the history of nominal names of Spitsbergen geographical objects. The book sets out the detailed “who is who” of Russian scientists, polar explorers, whose names are now drawn on the Archipelago map and also briefly outlines the history of their assignment. The book is illustrated with portraits, geographical views, certain episodes of expedition work and others, many of which were not widely known until now. Over 200 references and archive data were used during the work on this book.
