Collection of works of the International Scientific Conference “Archaeological sites of Southern Siberia and Central Asia:
from the appearance of the first herders to the epoch of the establishment of state formations: Transactions of the International
Conference devoted to the 85th anniversary of Doctor of Historical Sciences Elga Borisovna Vadetskaya (1936–2018) and 90th
anniversary of Doctor of Historical Sciences Gleb Alekseyevich Maksimenkov (1930–1986)” includes the works of the participants of the conference held on April 19–21, 2021, in Saint Petersburg, at the Institute for the History of Material Culture RAS. Chronologically, the studies presented in the collection comprise an expansive period — from the Eneolithic epoch to the
1st millennium AD, while geographically it is the space of the European mountain and steppe zone including Central Asia and Southern Siberia. The main scope of the works reflects the scientific interests of E. B. Vadetskaya and G. A. Maksimenkov to whose memorial dates this conference was devoted.
