In the first section of the volume the results of field research in the central part of the Eski-Kermen settlement in 2020-2021 are introduced into scientific circulation, in particular, the slab graves of the first half of the 14th century, discovered in the square in front of the main basilica of the city, are analyzed, and the container and building ceramics found during the excavations are analyzed.
The second section of the book presents unique archival materials. For the first time, Ottoman tax records, lists of tax-paying non-believers and records of land holdings of the village of Cherkes Kermen of the 16th- the 18th centuries are published, shedding light on the most important aspects of the life of the population of the valley adjacent to Eski-Kermen.
