The book summarizes the results of archival studies of the construction history of the Anzersky Island of the Solovetsky Archipelago, starting from the foundation of the first hermitage in the early 17th century. Of particular value to the book are descriptions of the little-studied "peripheral" buildings of the Holy Trinity and Golgotha-Crucifixion sketes, as well as the desert, chapels and fishing huts. Based on archeological data, the author also traces the main stages of the pre-monastic development of Fr. Anzer.
