Nowadays, this figure has already begun to be forgotten. But in the years called the 2000s, there was something that can only be called psychosis – the wild popularity of the writer, historian and publicist N. V. Starikov. Huge print runs, constant reprints. The books were read with bated breath, and not only by the youth, but also by the generation that considers itself the most well-read in the world. The most obscene slander from Nikolai Viktorovich on Lenin and the Bolsheviks, their direct accusation that they were agents of British intelligence, that the Russian revolution was a plan of British intelligence, carried out by the hands of Russian Bolsheviks... This slander, replicated not only in the author's extensive bibliography (Starikov practically lived on television, he traveled the entire country with his lectures), remained without any clear reaction from those who call themselves leftists, communists. This circumstance prompted the author to write this book.
