The author of the preset book makes an attempt to determine the dependence between the image (painting, plastic arts, stage and screen) and the word (literature). This dependence is examined by the example of screening, which is the less worked out problem of cinema, as there is neither any general work on that subject dedicated to its aesthetics, nor any screening schools in Russia or in the West. The book was based on the experience of western screen, including Japan and Russia both before and after the revolution.
