The novel "Andriy Lagovsky" by the outstanding Ukrainian orientalist, linguist, writer and translator, public and scientific figure Agatangel Krymsky (1871-1942) was written for almost a quarter of a century (1895-1919). The writer from time to time returned to work on the novel, made changes to the first part - the story "Do not understand" and the second - "Tuapse" as a continuation of the story "Andrew Lagovsky" (in the first version). The next two chapters "After St. Ephraim the Syrian" and "Understood" are a supplement to the new final version of the novel. This book is the first posthumous publication of the novel without notes and with the addition of two appeals of the author "To readers" and a letter from Lesya Ukrainka with an analysis of the first two parts of the work - a rare intellectual novel for Ukrainian literature.
