The book presents 17 biographies of hetmans —faithful and selfless preachers and defenders of the idea of the Cossack state. They devoted all their talents to the implementation of this idea, setting the goal of winning statehood for the Ukrainian people. These hetmans had to act in the most difficult and sometimes the most tragic historical conditions for Ukraine.
