Viktor Domontovych is the literary pseudonym of Ukrainian writer, historian and archaeologist V. Petrov (1894-1969). "Doctor with a paradox", as Mykola Zerov called him, was a master of intellectual prose, and he was also a talented scientist, erudite and Soviet intelligence officer.
