Zhibinov Alexey Petrovich (1905-1955) was a painter, member of the Great Patriotic War. The originality of his creative manner, the non-standard form, characteristic of the Filonov school, provoked attacks from socialist realist criticism. Harassment by party organs caused the death of the artist. The album for the first time presents excerpts from diaries and letters addressed to Alexey Zhibinov. These sources reflect the painful processes that took place in the Soviet fine arts in the 1920s and 1930s.
