Alaverdi is one of the small cities of the Republic of Armenia, which has a rich history and where A. Yeritsyan, Jacques de Morgan, I. The materials excavated and scientifically studied by Taghiashvili and others are more than 5000 years old. This work presents the history of the city of Alaverdi, the region and some adjacent settlements, which acted as a unity in the history of the Armenian people, Armenian culture, education and spirituality. The subject of the book is diverse: the geological picture of the region and the epochs of its formation, the results of the first excavations in the Alaverdi area, the times of the Urartian and Artashesians are presented. A special place is devoted to the history of the Kurikian kings of Bagratun, Sanahin-Haghpat, the most important center of spirituality, education and writing in the Middle Ages. The Armenian-Georgian and Russian-Georgian relations related to the region, the historical relations of Artsakh-Lori, the Armenian-Georgian war, 1921 are presented in as much detail as possible. In the book, the history of the city of Alaverdi itself is presented along with the history of copper smelting, which, in fact, is the history of the formation of production and labor relations in our country. The author also highlighted the stories of the creation of Alaverdu districts, famous structures, streets, industrial and construction organizations, educational and cultural institutions, which are presented in detail in the book. A chronology of the most important events of the region and Alaverd is also given at the end of the highly documentary work, framed by rare photographs, which will be useful for researchers.
