Novel "Alan" is the first prose work by Erkemen Matynovich Palkin. It’s dedicated to the life of the Altai village in the post-war years, the difficulties that befell the people of that time. The prototypes of the novel’s characters were real people with their own stories and destinies. The main character of the novel is an Altai young man, who has passed through difficult military roads, returns to his native village, to peaceful life, which he now measures by the standards acquires in severe front-line trials.
