The book explores the Upper Reaches of the Ola River manifestation of gems located in the Okhotsk-Chukotka volcanic belt along the Northern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. Here can be found agates and basalts exposed over a large area. Due to this, the effusive strata has been the object of long-term studies, the data of which are used to reveal the nature and unique features of these gems which occur naturally in this area. As a result, there are a number of fundamental issues relating to the origin of these mineralized thermal waters which serve as a source of the substance that comprises the nature, the shape of the feed channels and their relationship with the dyke complex, as well as the pulsating nature of changes in pressure and temperature. Boris M. Sedov (b. 1933) – Doctor of geological and mineralogical Sciences, researcher at the North-Eastern Scientific and Research Institute, professor at the North-Eastern State University, geophysicist.
