The edition is dedicated to the 200 anniversary of the outstanding Russian poet A.V. Kol’tsov. All the pieces of folklore, collected by the poet in Voronezh and Moscow provinces in the 30’ of the XIXth century – 48 songs and 438 proverbs and sayings – are published all together for the first time. The edition also provides contemporary variants of Voronezh songs once put down by Kol’tsov, and articles by well-known ethnographers about the history of preparing and publishing of the material, presented in the book.
