The monograph presents the results of a project devoted to the development of a methodology for measuring active aging and its factors to improve the mechanisms for implementing the active aging policy in the context of demographic aging. In the course of the study, the demographic prerequisites for the introduction of the concept of active aging in Russia and the Republic of Belarus were studied, theoretical and methodological approaches to interpreting the essence and highlighting the factors of active aging were systematized. The team of authors developed a unique sociological toolkit for measuring active longevity of the population and its factors, including an index method for assessing internal and external factors of active longevity, and tested it on the data of the Vologda Oblast. Based on the calculated indices of internal and external factors of active longevity, the typology of the population was carried out according to their ratio. The foreign experience of implementing the policy in the field of active aging in a number of countries of the world is analyzed, its strengths and weaknesses are identified for Russia and Belarus. The main provisions of the concept of active aging for the Russian Federation have been developed, in particular, its purpose and principles of implementation, priority areas have been formulated.
