Vladimir Ploskikh (1937) is a Soviet and Kyrgyz scholar, historian, archaeologist, teacher, writer, doctor of historical sciences, professor, academician and vice president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993), honored a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan (1997), a full member of the Russian Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences.
