Bazarov, Boris Vandanovich (1960-) is a Soviet and Russian historian, director of the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology, scientific director of the Buryat Scientific Center of the SB RAS, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2003 in the Department of Historical and Philological Sciences, Academician of RAS (2016). Member of the Joint Scientific Council for the Humanities of the SB RAS (since 1997) and the editorial board of the journal "Humanities in Siberia", the journal "Power". President of the Society of Orientalists of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2006), Deputy of the People's Khural of the Republic of Buryatia (1998-2002 and 2013-2018).
